I'm Sorry!

I'm pretty sure I've done posts like this before, and I'm sure they'll be many more in past. But I wanna keep this short and sweet.

HARLEY WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! YOU'VE POSTED ONCE THIS MONTH!

I don't want everyone to think I've given up, because I totally haven't, I just don't think currently I can commit to one post a week, don't get me wrong I've got tons of reviews to write of products I've been sent, I just haven't got the time to write at the moment and July has been insanely busy. Heres a few things I've been doing:

IMATS

IMATS was insane, it was only a day but it's taken up alot of my time, planning, shopping lists, video editing and all the behind the scenes parts of a YouTuber/Bloggers life. I've uploaded my IMATS Haul now which is huge which you can watch here:
Tomorrow I'll be uploading my IMATS Vlog, so that'll be one thing off the list to do, so I will have a little more time to start getting into the blog again.

VLOGOWEEN

If you know me, or have followed me for a long time, you'll remember last year I attempted Vlogoween, in which I upload a video everyday in October, which dramatically failed because October is such a huge month for me and I get incredibly busy. This year I'm planning very early and filming and editing all 31 videos in advance, which is a MAMMOTH task when you don't have the time. I've been planning videos, buying bits and pieces, editing, more planning, storyboarding.. The list goes on, it's my favourite season of the year, so I'm putting in loads of time and effort for it. So bear with! Until November production of videos and posts will be slow, but know October's content will be to die for.. Literally.

That kinda sums up where I've been lately, but fear not, I'm not dead, I've not abandoned the blog, I'm just busy, busy, busy! But I won't stay away too long, I hope to be back posting regularly-ish as soon as I possibly can. Mega love.

What was your favourite memory of July 2015?

Review: Slendertoxtea

Disclaimer: These products were sent to me to review, but all opinions are my own.

For ages now I've seen all different types of 'detox' teas all over Instagram, and I've wanted to try one in forever. Slendertoxtea gave me the opportunity to review their 14 Day Teatox, which of course I was very excited about! The brand claims the benefits of these teas are: Colon Cleanse, Increased Energy, Feel Refreshed, Promotes Healthy Change. The pack includes two different types of tea, and the ingredients are similar but do differ slightly. One to drink first thing in the morning everyday for two weeks, and the second to drink a few hours before bed every other day. Lets see how I got on..

I first tried these teas one weekend on a Saturday morning as the tea says 'We advise you begin your teatox on a weekend or your day off.' I can only assume because of the colon cleanse.

They also advice to brew the tea for 2-3 minutes, and alter the brewing time accordingly. The first time I tried to tea, I left it to brew for two minutes, and just a few hours after I was already on the toilet experiencing the 'colon cleanse' - I'm going to try and be the less explicit I can from now on, as there's lots of talk about bodily fluid. I did experience an increased bowel movement, quite significantly. The next morning, my body woke me up early to tell me to get straight on the toilet! But I was determined to carry on with the teatox and make my second cup. After visiting the toilet 8 times on the second day, experiencing headaches and major stomach cramping I decided to stop the teatox, as I really didn't feel healthy, and I thought it be best to stop.

I left it quite a few weeks before trying the tea again with an open mind..

I had two weeks off work, great! I can visit the toilet as often as needed! I tried another Daytox tea, and only brewed the tea for one minute this time, to calm down the effects. But like before I had dramatically increased bowel movements and stomach cramps that left me laying on the sofa clutching my stomach, not anyone who knows me knows I won't make things more dramatic than what they are, but I couldn't move all day, unless I was visiting the loo. I did feel pretty sick, and I didn't eat that day.

Now on the back on the teas the disclaimer says:
"Before embarking on any detox diet or health plan you may want to consult with your GP, if symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or prolonged diarrhoea occur cease use and consult your GP."

So I thought it be best that I end the detox, before my symptoms had any chance to get worse.

As much as I wanted to stick out the experience of this, I just couldn't. I'm not sure why my body reacted so badly to this, it maybe because I'm not one to eat super healthy and stay free of toxins. I think that probably is the reason as usually I've got quite a strong stomach. But I know there are people out there that can use these pretty often to help with weight loss, and to cleanse the body. I wanted to love these teas, but I just can't say I can.

BUT! Please bear in mind, just because these teas didn't work for me, they could work for you. So I still would recommend giving them a go if this is a topic that interests you. I'm still quite scared to try anymore teatox's at the moment, but I hope in the future I will be able to find one that works for me.

ScareCON 2015

Why have I been away?! Well I've been to the carnage that is ScareCON of course and my god, it was  bloody amazing again. It was my second year and this time was held at Thorpe Park, and it was one of the biggest yet. I was really looking forward to this year as me and Alice knew a few more people this time and it wouldn't be so awkward as the first year!

Alice and Myself on 'Loggers Leap'
Alice and Me had the perfect weekend break sorted! Stay over for a catchup and Chinese takeout on Thursday, Friday morning leave for ScareCON, have lots of seminars and chats during the day, party during the evening and then on Saturday we had a lovely free day at Thorpe Park. Which, as we were hungover, we took Saturday slowly, and it was much more enjoyable chilling in the park and doing all the rides with time apart. Running around, waiting for rides all day is horrible compared to our Saturday, and we still managed to do all the big rollercoasters several times as well as flat rides. ENOUGH ABOUT ROLLERCOASTERS! LET'S TALK SCARY SHIT!

So for those of you that aren't involved in the scare entertainment industry, you'd probably hate the idea of ScareCON, because all we do all day is talk about scare mazes, horror makeup, blood, gore, sound, lighting, set design, scare acting, oh god it's brilliant! Seriously you've gotta be there.

The day will start with signing in and collecting your wristbands etc, this is where you tend to bump into everyone and begin chatting away, which yes, we did! Then we wandered through the trade stands, which looked visually stunning this year I must say, we had some great stands this year! And of course the seating area in which the seminars take place. Due to us being at Thorpe Park we also got the opportunity to visit the 'SAW Alive' maze three times in total, once for a Haunted Lantern Demo, a behind the scenes tour, and finally a very special performance complete with actors. Myself and Alice missed out on the Live version with actors as we had to go and get ready for the ScareBall and didn't want to turn up too late for that (last year we turned up late we missed out on food and half the awards ceremony).

The ScareBall was really a chance for me to test out Selma Reaper as a live character, she's had nothing but a good response online and so I was curious to see the reaction in person. Cathy was most excited to finally meet Selma, as seemed Rosie too, and they both loved her which gave me one tonne load of confidence once my voice started to ache and I lasted ages with the very full on voice because of the positive reactions I got all round. This gave me loads of confidence as the character which lead to plenty of fun and dancing, further on in the night discussions into what she'll be up to in October. I won't say anything yet, as nothing is official. We all had something to eat and enjoyed an amazing performance by the Circus of Horrors, and by the end of the night there were about ten of us sitting outside in the Shark Hotel's smoking area until 3am getting very drunk, and having a really good laugh! The fact everyones had a bit to drink in the evenings makes me kinda prefer the ScareBall, in both the years I've gone, I've spoken to the most new people at the ScareBall. But nevertheless, it's a fab event all day.

I woke up, feeling like crap after only a few hours sleep, but Alice and I got breakfast then went off into Thorpe Park for the day. As I said earlier we took it super easy though as I felt quite iffy, but it was probably one of my most enjoyable days I've had at the park, because I wasn't rushing around for ages.

You know, ScareCON may not be the biggest event in the UK, but it is currently the only one I'd go back to year after year, mainly down to the people! I've made some great friends at ScareCON and although they live all around the country and we only see each other at the event, we have brilliant fun! Thank you to Michael once again for arranging the event. I shall see you in November for ScareCON: The Aftermath! Really looking forward to it!

Stay Scary, Harley.

The Creative Blogger Award!

Well hi there! I don't think I've blogged since last week.. so I do apologise, I've got so much I need to write but only having access to the internet on my laptop at the weekends makes things difficult. But nevertheless I'm here and typing, so that's the main thing!

On Saturday, I was most excited when I saw that Abbie from Kittens in Top Hats had nominated me to take part in the Creative Blogger Award, so thank you for that Abbie! I'd seen this floating around and never thought I'd be nominated so I appreciate that!

If any of you are unaware for The Creative Blogger award you have to list five 'fun facts' about yourself and then tag fifteen other bloggers of your choice to take part! So lets get down and dirty..

1. If any of you know me personally, or maybe online, you'll know my favourite 'holiday' is actually Halloween.. If I could celebrate Christmas instead of Halloween, I totally would. You'll learn more about my love for Halloween in September and October on my blog I'm sure - my blog audience hasn't experienced my Halloween antics really yet!

2. This is actually getting more difficult for me already there's not really very many 'fun facts' about me.. Ohh I'll chuck this in there - my favourite blogger/vlogger of all time is Helen Anderson, I absolutely love her style and I think she's just a great girl in general.. I would see us getting along too if we were to ever meet up, simply because I feel we've got similar buoyant personalities.

3. I absolutely love grunge fashion, if you've seen my outfit posts you'll know already, but I never end up buying grungey clothing, I never think outfits, I just think 'ohh I like that top' and I'll never be able to do a grungey styled look out of it. I MUST start thinking outfits when I buy clothing..

4. I've got so much I wanna do with my blog and YouTube channel, incorporating all my viewers/readers and do things all around the country and eventually abroad - one of the things (well, it'll lead to multiple things) has never been done before by a blogger and it thrills me to imagine where it could lead as it's such a big passion, but the time and money is holding me back, right now with a smaller following, it's way too much of a risk financially. Keep dreaming Harley, one day you'll be able to do it! I'm not gonna tell you the plans as it'll ruin the surprise, but there is already promotion online, not under my name of anything though.

5. A few of my loves to finish things off - Starbucks, Pugs.. any dogs really, reptiles, fashion, costume design, theatre, music.. There's plenty more where that came from but those are just a few of my loves.

And there you have it! 5 Facts about me.. well, ish, it was the best I could do, really I was more talking about what I wanna do in the future but there we have it, it's still related to me and I'm rambling now.

I'm not sure how many of these bloggers will have already been nominated, but I'm gonna nominate you anyway, sorry! I love the blogs listed below and most of these I chat to online and they're total babes.

  1. Bekah
  2. Amanda
  3. Darcey
  4. Liv
  5. Carl
  6. Hayley
  7. Jess
  8. Rachael
  9. Lauren
  10. Liv
  11. Alisha
  12. Charlie.. He's a vlogger, but I'll change it up a bit!
  13. Owen
  14. Natalie
I'll leave it at fourteen as there's no-one else I can think of, from the top of my head
